The first appearance of the now Jimmy Johnson championship Lowes Car

This is the first appearance of the now Jimmy Johnson championship Lowes Car

This diecast was only run in one race at the Coca Cola 600 Sunday, May 26th 1996 (Charlotte Motor Speedway was the Lowes Motor Speedway from Feb. 1999 to 2009) celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Lowes Home Improvement Store Chain.

This 1/64 Racing Champions diecast originally valued at $60.00 after it was released in 1996 but now people are giving it away for $3 to $5 on Ebay because it's a Brett Bodine driven car. Brett Bodine was a lousy driver and caused so many wrecks so it's not mind boggling that the value of this diecast took a dive. Even though the driver is wheel splatter this one time gold 50th anniversary paint scheme of Lowes was a special event for the retailer and the future ride of the now 5 time champion Jimmy Johnson.

Brett Bodine drove the first Lowes sponsored car in the Winston Cup series with bacically the same colors as todays Jimmy Johnson's Lowes championship ride. In 1996 a special gold paint scheme was put on the car for the Coca Cola 600 celebrating Lowes 50th anniversary.
